Weight Watchers premiered Jessica Simpson’s new commercial this morning, but it doesn’t show off her post baby body. Not at all. Instead, Jessica speaks honestly about her struggles losing weight after baby.

“There is a lot of pressure to lose weight,” Jessica says. “But I’m not a supermodel, I’m just Jessica.”

The commercial starts with a close up on her face and then shows Jessica sitting on a couch. Only showing her from the shoulders up. She speaks directly to the camera, sharing why she started the program to begin with.

“I just want to be healthy for my daughter,” she says.

Jessica gave birth to her little girl, Maxwell Drew, back in May.

“Really, I just want to be a better version of myself,” she explains at the end of the commercial. “And I’m on my way.”

Though Jessica wasn’t quite ready to debut her body in this commercial, it doesn’t mean she is hiding away.

In fact, she was photographed looking casual in LAX as she waited for a flight to New York. Jessica also tweeted a photo of herself and her new look after appearing on Katie Couric’s new talk show, showing off her curves in a fitted black dress.

For her first television appearance she admitted she was nervous, but explained that it was important she stopped worrying about what other people are saying about her body.

“I really have to separate myself from the world’s expectations and really just look inside myself and be healthy with myself,” she said. “I want to be a phenomenal role model for my child.”

Since signing with Weight Watchers nearly four months ago, Jessica has been honest about her struggles admitting that she gained more weight during her pregnancy than she would have liked.

But with a new fitness regimen that has her using a pedometer to track her steps on walks with her fiancé, Eric Johnson, and changing up her eating habits to include more fruits and veggies, Jessica hopes to become a role model for other women.

Jessica of course is among the list of celebs, like Jennifer Hudson and Mariah Carey, who joined the weight loss program prior to having a baby.  Both Hudson and Carey chose to show off their new bodies in their debut commercial with Weight Watchers.

What do you think of Jessica’s new commercial and should it have showed off more of her figure?
