Like Madonna, Gwen Stefani has gone through a lot of looks over the course of her career.
Way back in 1995, she was showing off her abs in crop tops and now she’s designing clothes through her fashion line L.A.M.B.
But whether she’s rocking a bindi or an Alice in Wonderland get-up or even adult braces, you can be sure Gwen will always have her signature red lipstick perfectly applied.
In honor of Fashion Week, we break down the looks that have taken No Doubt’s frontwoman from tomboy to style maven.
Back in 1996, Gwen was “Just A Girl” figuring out her look, changing from blonde to blue hair and wearing her just-one-of-the-boys duds.

In 1999, Gwen went pink and started changing her tomboy ways in punk princess looks that started hinting at the fashionista she would become.

In 2003, Gwen became a fashion designer with her L.A.M.B line and started dressing the part. This look even carried over to the stage where she put her own twist on old school glamour with a string of pearls, pin curls and a cropped bustier.

Gwen made her big screen debut in 2004’s The Aviator playing Jean Harlow and started to look even more like a Hollywood starlet. Gavin Rossdale, who she married in 2002, definitely helped complete her stunning red carpet look.

After releasing her first solo album the same year, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. Gwen adopted her now infamous Harajuku look and things definitely got bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

In 2006, Gwen used her pregnancy with first son, Kingston as an excuse to show off her impressive maternity style at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards.

A year after giving birth to her second son, Zuma, Gwen went couture for the 2009 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Chanel and doesn’t seem to be turning back.

Occasionally she will regress back to her old habits, like her recent return to the stage with No Doubt, whose new album Push and Shove is out September 25. She wore something that looked very familiar. Perhaps she was feeling nostalgic for those “Rock Steady” days?

But we prefer when she shows off her stylishness in looks like this one from Stella McCartney in which she dared to bare a little bit of her rockin’ bod and showed off her signature “fun bun.”
