It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Mariah Carey is celebrating all the way to the top of the charts.
The singer tops the inaugural Holiday Songs chart for 2012, which ranks the most popular seasonal songs, with her original song “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
From the cast of Glee to Justin Bieber to Michael Buble, it seems everyone has covered Mariah’s classic from 1994 making it not only a popular holiday song, but the nineteenth best-selling digital single of the 20th century, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Last year, the song even held the top spot on the charts for four of the five weeks that holiday songs are tabulated by SoundScan.
The current top five for this week includes Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,” Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You),” Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock,” and Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas.”
Bing Crosby’s classic “White Christmas” lands at number nine while Wham!’s “Last Christmas” took the tenth spot.
