Wow! What an amazing weekend! It started off Friday…Robert and I surprised Reed at school early and headed to The Catamaran Resort in Pacific Beach.
OMG that hotel/resort is beyond gorgeous. I honestly forgot that I was still in San Diego.
We were there for a surprise 40th birthday for a mom from Reed’s school. This mom is such a giving loving person who has became a dear friend. She is always doing things for others, so it was so awesome that her husband Dan started planning a surprise for her almost a year ago!!!
Family and friends flew in from around the country. Here is her face as we surprised her.
We stayed the night at the Catamaran and got a morning swim in Saturday. The pool was so nice and the sun came out! The only problem was we had to leave right after our morning swim, so I could set up for Reed’s school Gala. It was so tough to leave the Catamaran and the beautiful bay and resort.
Reed’s school is seriously the most beautiful community I’ve ever been a part of. If you are looking for a school for your child you really need to check it out. It’s called San Diego CoOperative Charter School 2. The teachers and staff are magical with Reed. I’ve shared that we’ve had lots of challenges with Reed… SDCCS2 has stood by us with more love and support than I could ever dream of.
It’s in the Mountain View area of San Diego. Take a tour. The other reason I love the school is THE PARENTS! If you want to be a part a tight-knit, cool group of parents that love to have fun, this is the place 🙂
So, the Gala was Saturday night at the Mengei Museum in Balboa Park. It was a success. I wore a red dress that I got at Buffalo Exchange Thrift Shop! I’ve never worn that color before. I felt really good in the dress!
I hope you all had a really great weekend. Reed just stopped napping (I know, crazy I got him to go down at 5-years-old, still) so I am looking forward to a nap while he’s at school.
As I was writing this, Tommy just walked into the studio with a surprise! It was Robert?!? He came in just to tell me how much he loved me on the radio. It took my breath away. Wow.
Listen to Robert read his letter to Emily here! It’s so sweet!
Well, now my eyes are swollen from being in tears for what Robert said. Now I really need a nap.
One more thing…My dad is still looking for a job. It’s been so many months now. If anybody has any ideas or connections please let me know. He just applied and interviewed at Ralphs because they were hiring a bunch of people…Haven’t heard back yet. If you have an idea email me firstname.lastname@example.org
Take care 🙂
