Man, I have a lot of catching up to do. It’s been awhile, so bear with me.
Let me start off with my BFF in the whole wide world, Stacey. She came into town for an educators conference at the Sheraton Bayside. I hadn’t seen my best friend in over two years. She lives in Yakima, Washington and our schedules just get so busy, we have trouble fitting each other in.
That’s not a good excuse and I won’t let two years slip through my fingers again. It’s crazy how we can just pick up where we left off two years ago. Stacey knows me better than anyone in the whole world, although my kids know me well and Onofrio is starting to know me deeply, too.
We became friends on the playground in preschool when we were three. We went to grammar school, middle school, high school and college together. Here are some pics of our visit. Evan thinks she looks like the girl from Icona Pop. Haha
The part that made me so nervous was when Stacey met Onofrio.
I knew they would like each other. I had no idea that Stacie would sit next to him at dinner and tell him all my embarrassing stories from our youth. It couldn’t have gone better. I miss her already. BUT we are most likely going to see each other at the end of September because it’s our…wait for it…wait for it…it’s our 30 YEAR high school reunion!
Holy smokes I’m old.
We are on the fence about going, but we have to, right?
So that was my Stacey week. Now, on to Opening Day at the Del Mar Race Track. What a fun day. I thought I would be annoyed beyond belief at all the big boobs and big lips and orange skin and drunk people, but surprisingly it was pleasant. Maybe it’s because we were in the Turf Club. This is Onofrio’s golf game. He just loves the track. It was fun to share that with him.
And we WON…$800! THAT was exciting. Onofrio’s horse ran in the 7th race. Silver Spirit, what a beautiful animal, came in 5th which isn’t bad. I just love looking at the gorgeousness of the horses.
Tomorrow, Emily, Robert, Gina, Joey, Mel, Onofrio and me are going to the track together. I ordered all the girls fresh flower crowns. I think they will look so cute. I hope they turn out cute. Emily is coming over early to try it on because she’s stressed about the crown. Haha.
She’s also going to come look at my furniture because I just ordered all new furniture from Living Spaces. Free financing for 18 months!!! I can pay that off in a year and a half! I can’t even wait to show you before and after pictures. The furniture I have now is the furniture I had when I was married. It’s time to get rid of that stuff.
Why didn’t I do this sooner?? It gets delivered in August.
Anyway, last weekend was magical. We drove up to Beverly Hills where we stayed at the quaint and very fancy Peninsula Hotel. Look what Onofrio surprised me with.
And look at this cool chocolate bell man they left in our room. This place was fancy.
We were up there because of the STING/PETER GABRIEL concert. This is a meeting of two of my favorite artists of all time. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for months. My sister and her husband Joe came with us. We went to The Ivy first.
I saw that blonde girl from Rich Kids of Beverley Hills. That is the only celeb sighting at that venue.
After lunch we walked down Rodeo Drive and looked at all the crazy expensive stores. It was fun holding a shoe worth $1300 in my hand. We then went to the Beverley Wilshire for espresso and dessert. Look at how pretty my sister is.
Then it was concert time! You need to see these amazing pants I wore. Can you see the embroidery at the bottom? I got so many compliments. They are truly the coolest pants.
The Hollywood Bowl has got to be the best venue on earth. I’d never been and it blew me away. So did the concert. It was so cool how Peter and Sting would sing each other’s songs and then they’d sing together. The whole thing was excellent. AND, it started exactly on time. 7:20pm on the dot! I appreciated that.
We sang our lungs out and danced our butts off. Best time ever.
The next day at the hotel Onofrio and I saw Lisa Rinna by the pool. We were laying on the lounges by the pool and she walked by in her Louboutin heels and blazer apparently looking for someone. Turns out that someone was Bethany from The Real Housewives of New York City. They were lunching with two bald guys, producer types. Bethany and I made eye contact and she smiled at me. I was too chicken to ask for a picture, plus she was eating. I didn’t want to bug her.
So there’s my last month in a nutshell. I hope you have the best day.
OH MY GOSH WAIT!!!!!! I almost forgot to tell you that my sweet boy came home from Vienna last night. He was there for a month with a friend and his mom!! When he came down the escalator at the airport we jumped up and down and clapped our hands. It was so good to see his handsome face. We hugged and hugged. Earlier in the day, we hung up signs and balloons all over the place. We also made sure we had all of his favorite food in the cupboards and fridge. I feel complete again.
See you later, Diary.
