Jeff, Jer and Little Tommy to Be Inducted Into the National Radio Hall of Fame

Today is a proud day at KYXY! Three of our radio family members will be inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago – One of them, Tommy Sablan, will be the first radio producer to every be inducted!

Here’s what Little Tommy had to say about the induction:

“I’m very proud of the history of the show, but I am equally proud of the show today and our future.” said Tommy, “Handling adversity and facing things through the last 29 years together, here in San Diego, is what made the show, along with San Diego and our listeners. I am proud that I can go out and someone will say that they take their kids to school listening to us and when they were younger, their parents took them to school listening. Generations of morning radio.  Today, I will celebrate that. Tomorrow, I will work even harder for Jeff and the Showgram.

I’m just a poor kid from Chula Vista that appreciates radio.  It has given me a chance to help my family.”

The trio have been together since March of 1988. Along their radio journey, they added additional members to their posse – Laura Cain, Randy Hoag and Emily Griffiths.
