I must make a declaration…I Have The Best Boyfriend In The World – He really truly is.
He surprised me, yet again..twice…this weekend!!!!
The first surprise happened Saturday afternoon. Onofrio was supposed to come pick me up at 2:30 so we could meet with some tile guys. He really wanted me to be part of this meeting, so I totally was for it.
The doorbell rang and I told the kids to get it because i was still getting ready. I came down the stairs and totally missed who was standing right there. Charlie finally says, “Mom, look!” I glance up and there is Stacey and her husband Dave standing right there at my door! I screamed!
My BFF in the whole wide world was at my doorstep. He flew her out to come to dinner with Onofrio, the kids and I to celebrate (one more time) my 10th sober birthday.
We got ready for dinner. Charlie and Evan had new outfits because we were going to Manhattan in La Jolla. They looked so cute. We picked up Stacey and Dave at the hotel and headed north. When we got to the restaurant, the host met us at the door. I didn’t think anything of it. I just thought that’s the way they do it at The Manhattan. So, I follow him in through the lobby area and I see my friend Gina with her phone up to her face. I start to scream…but then I see Krista and her husband and Tracy and Mel and Erik and Linda and Holly and Lori and Jeff and Kristen! OMG I was floored. I just covered my mouth and couldn’t breathe! Surprise!!!
Wow. Onofrio did it again. He managed to pull off two major surprises within three hours of each other! You should have seen the table! It looked beautiful with a packet of token cookies and a special menu and balloons. It was gorgeous.
He also read me a beautiful speech about how much I mean to him and how much my sobriety means to those around me. It was so touching. I thought for a split second that he was going to drop to one knee. I would’ve passed out. I don’t think I could’ve handled all that excitement! And, I wish I was sobbing while he was reading his moving speech, but I didn’t. I can’t seem to cry lately. I feel like I’ve cried out all my tears in my life already. Anyway, I was beaming while he was speaking, that’s for sure.
Here are some pictures from the big night.
Look at my cool Target boots!
The next day, we went to Rosas in Temecula to meet my mom, sis, niece, nephew and brother in law. It was to celebrate Faith and Charlie’s birthday (even though it was in January!)
Every time I see my mom lately, I hug her tighter and I appreciate her more. I just can’t imagine my life without her. She means so much to all of us. I’m so lucky she’s healthy and happy. I really cannot ask for anything else in my life. I am so grateful and I am humble.
Oh, tonight I officially receive my 10 year token. My babies are coming to my meeting to give it to me. I love that.
Oh, look at this super old photo of me and Randy! This was back in the Q106 days. I sure do miss him:(
I’ll see you soon, Diary.
