Whether you have passes to Comic-Con or you’re just taking in the free activities on the outside, there comes a point where you need to get some air and take a little break from the action.
Why not use that time to give something back. You too can be a super hero, without dressing up!
The San Diego Blood Bank is holding its Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive throughout the run of Comic-Con. Robert Heinlein is known as “the dean of science fiction writers”. This blood drive has been going on every year since Comic-Con began in 1977, and was named Blood Drive of the Year by America’s Blood Centers, North America’s largest network of non-profit community blood centers.
You can donate through Sunday at the Grand Hyatt Hotel (just a short walk down the street from the San Diego Convention Center) and as part of the Comic-Con fun, they’ll hand you a cool Guardians of the Galaxy T-Shirt, goodie bag and raffle ticket on the way out.
If you’re a Comic-Con ticket holder, you can get more info at the blood drive booth in the Sails Pavilion. Otherwise, just head over to the hotel and sign up, and help save lives through your blood donation.
